How to Automatically Update Monitor Drivers
To successfully update drivers automatically it is necessary to make use of a driver tool. This tool can monitor drivers and run on a specific schedule that you set to scan device drivers and check current versions against online driver databases for latest releases. This type of action typically happens as a background process so not to disturb the user.
Windows can also update drivers automatically with its windows update wizard, however this process is way different than that of an automatic driver updates tool. Windows updates are not specifically for drivers, but in order for Windows to deliver device drivers updates to your system, the device manufacturer has to have a valid driver signature with the Microsoft Windows logo program. Meaning that once Microsoft has tested and certified the driver update it will include it in its Windows updates but only if certified.
This is why you often get those annoying pop up windows when you want to install something, where Windows says that it does not have a signature or knows nothing about the software you’re about to install.
There are dozens of driver tools that can perform automatic driver updates. Scheduling features are typical components of these tools and make it possible to automate the driver update process. Without driver tools it is just not possible to update drivers automatically.
The most popular driver tools today are Driver Cure, Driver Detective and Driver Genius. Compared side by side these tools are all very similar, but most importantly they are all capable of automatically updating drivers on a PC system by enabling the scheduler according to user preference. Ideally the scheduler should run once a week.
Driver updates are very important, if windows receives updates on a bi-weekly basis or monthly basis, so too should your device drivers be updated. This gap between software and hardware updates can begin to cause serious performance issues for your PC.
